N Scale

N scale is a popular small scale for model railroaders that follow a scale that can range from 1: 148 to 1: 160 but uses the same 9 mm track gauge. N scale trains and structures are about half the size of HO scale, which allows for N scale layouts to have just as much detail as an HO layout in less space, or more detail in the same amount of space. N scale trains started gaining popularity in the 1960’s and today they are the second most popular scale behind HO scale. N scale train layouts are especially popular in Japan where people have less space within their homes.
