These 61’ 8” bulkhead flat cars with loads are painted green with white logos and lettering.They were built in April 1976 by the Thrall Car Company of Chicago Heights, IL, and run on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Bulkhead flat cars were very popular for carrying lumber and other wood products. Burlington Northern Railroad was the product of a 1970 merger comprising the Great Northern Railway; Northern Pacific Railway; Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad; and the Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway.
